About Dr. Roger W. Evans
Dr. Roger W. Evans is the world's foremost transplant professional recruiter and talent manager. He is who he is because of his contributions and accomplishments in transplantation.
Dr. Evans has had both an impressive and enviable career, thanks to his many colleagues around the world. He has directed numerous national studies concerning a variety of aspects of organ and tissue transplantation, as well as other advanced medical technologies. These studies have served as the basis for national and international health care policy, including the National Organ Transplantation Act (1984), as well as Medicare coverage for heart transplantation, liver transplantation, bone marrow transplantation, and various medications required by both transplant recipients and patients awaiting transplant. He is considered a pioneer when it comes to the economics of transplantation, the outcomes of transplant patients, and organ and tissue donation and procurement.
Dr. Evans has been a member of the Board of Directors for the United Network for Organ Sharing, the National Marrow Donor Program, and the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation. He is currently a member of the Public Policy Committee for the American Society of Transplantation, and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.Dr. Evans was previously a Senior Research Associate at the Battelle Seattle Research Center (1979-1992), was on the faculty at the University of Washington (1980-1992), and was Head of the Section of Health Services Evaluation at the Mayo Clinic - Rochester from 1992 through 1999. Thereafter, he created an independent health care consultancy and, subsequently, the United Network for the Recruitment of Transplantation Professionals (UNRTP).
In 2010, Dr. Evans received the Distinguished Service Award from the American Society of Transplantation for his contributions to the field of transplantation.
Dr. Evans has published over 200 papers, and has made more than 350 public and professional presentations. Throughout his career, Dr. Evans has consulted with many transplant centers and health care organizations around the world. He has also served on numerous national and international task forces, expert panels, and major conference program committees.
