About Dr. Evans

Dr. Roger W. Evans is an internationally recognized transplant professional who has directed numerous national studies concerning a variety of aspects of organ and tissue transplantation, as well as other advanced medical technologies. These studies have served as the basis for national and international health care policy, including the National Organ Transplantation Act (1984).
Dr. Evans has been a member of the Board of Directors for the United Network for Organ sharing (UNOS) and the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP). He is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, and a member of the Public Policy Committee for the American Society of Transplantation.
Dr. Evans was previously a Senior Research Associate at the Battelle Seattle Research Center (1979-1992), was on the faculty at the University of Washington (1980-1992), and was Head of the Section of Health Services Evaluation at the Mayo Clinic – Rochester until 1999. Thereafter, he first created an independent health care consultancy and, subsequently, the United Network for the Recruitment of Transplantation Professionals.
Dr. Evans has published over 200 papers, and has made more than 350 public and professional presentations. He is widely sought out for his expertise in many areas.
Since 1981, Dr. Evans has consulted with many transplant centers and health care organizations around the world on a variety of issues. He has also served on numerous national and international task forces, expert panels, and major conference program committees.
