Job Description:

 

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced health care professional eager to partner with hospital staff in fostering collaborative efforts aimed at achieving Gift of Life Donor Program goals and objectives.

 

You will be responsible for the development and coordination of marketing and educational programs aimed at promoting organ and tissue donation within area hospitals; Conduct education needs assessment for assigned hospitals and develop and implement educational plan; Maintains hospital referral base and implements strategies aimed at increasing and improving performance outcomes in organ and tissue donation; Sustains relationships with referring physicians and nursing staff and initiates changes in practice to increase organ and tissue donation in assigned portfolio; Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of hospital market to characterize donor potential and identify decision-making individuals who can influence hospital protocols to include best demonstrated practices for donor referrals and family counseling; and establishes multi-disciplinary councils to develop standards of practice for donor referral and family counseling.

 

Preferred Skills:

 

Bachelor degree in business, education, or a health care related field plus four years work experience in health care environment required. Successful candidates will possess a record of demonstrated success in sales and marketing, customer service and public speaking.

 

Utilize superior problem solving techniques to achieve objectives outlined in marketing plan without compromising donor referral base or relationships with physicians, nurses, and other hospital Personnel. Must be able to organize and coordinate multiple projects and calendars of multiple individuals, and plan for contingencies, in a fast paced environment. Critical thinking and ability to work independently are necessary. Must perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of assigned hospitals by using data analysis, examination of organizational hierarchy and needs assessment to develop effective strategies with immediate results.

Must be able to Lift 50 pounds or more; Travel throughout the region (3 hours by car) and out of the region, including air travel.

 

Work 8:30a.m. - 5:00p.m. and any hours necessary to meet needs of educational audiences.

Gift of Life Donor Program, the non-profit agency serving eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware, is responsible for recovering and distributing organ and tissues used in life-saving and life-enhancing transplants.

 

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced health care educator, marketing, or sales professional eager to partner with hospital staff in fostering collaborative efforts aimed optimizing donation outcomes within an assigned portfolio of hospitals in Central PA/Danville vicinity. This position requires the individual to effectively cultivate and sustain professional relationships with hospital staff, especially those in the area of critical care/emergency department, physician, and nursing and executive hospital leadership. Must affect behavioral change and improvement in the critical care/ED setting surrounding end of life care and the organ donation process, ensure standards of practice in place that support the entire donation process, develop/implement a strategic plan aimed at optimizing outcomes. Maintain a daily presence within assigned hospital portfolio, conduct comprehensive hospital staff education surrounding donation practices, and ensure that every potential organ donation opportunity is maximized. Conduct comprehensive case debriefings following every clinical interaction, routinely report donation process and outcome data, using it to create a dialogue and mutual critique about process improvements.

 

Preferred Skills:

 

Bachelor degree in business, education, or a health care related field plus four years work experience in health care environment required. Hospital based work experience in a clinical setting preferred. Successful candidates will possess a record of demonstrated success in sales and marketing, customer service and public speaking. Experience in medical sales/marketing and/or clinical education strongly desired. Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving history required.
