Job Summary:
Applicant must have experience with transplant nursing care . Responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating departmental orientation and educational activities for nursing personnel based on identified learning in collaboration with Nursing Education, Nurse Manager and Staff Nurses. Responsible for ongoing professional development of nursing personnel. Provides consultation in the clinical field of expertise within the Division of Nursing, CCF and the professional community.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Physical Demands: Bachelors Degree required. BSN strongly preferred. Current licensure in the State of Ohio required. Demonstrated expertise in a clinical specialty. Specialty certification desired. Knowledge of adult learning theory, motivational strategies, change theory, group process skills, leadership and teaching strategies. Excellent communication interpersonal skills. Presentation skills required. Minimum of two (2) years experience as a staff nurse with a specific patient population and demonstrated clinical expertise. Evidence of teaching and leadership in the clinical area, such as preceptor or BCLS or ACLS instructor. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. NOTE: Must be able to organize, initiate, and provide educational programs for all levels of nursing staff in automated information and clinical systems.
