Submitted by Roger Evans on Thu, 01/06/2011 - 23:24.The Transplant Database Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to work in conjunction with the Transplant Database Project Manager to ensure that all data is accurate, complete, and entered in a timely manner into the transplant database to meet regulatory and departmental requirements.
Responsibilities include maintaining data quality and providing analytical support for the TeleResults database, designing data reports for Department of Transplantation, and works closely with Transplant Team to ensure UNOS compliance.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 3 years working with relational data or clinical databases, experience with relational databases, and knowledge of Medical terminology.

Description:
· Provide full clinical data management and analysis for the Transplant Program, in order to ensure timely and accurate reporting to UNOS, CMS, IPRO and all regulatory agencies, and program and hospital leadership.
· Request, review and supplement data collection forms completed by clinical staff on a daily basis, checking for completeness and accuracy against multiple sources during the data entry process into UNET and other data bases.
· Verify and analyze data on an ongoing basis. Request and retrieve documentation from Transplant Division and Hospital Medical Records and TransChart database to support abstracted data per UNOS, CMS, and IPRO specifications.
· Communicate with UNOS and other agencies regarding data submission, data verification and follow-up.
· Develop new data collection forms and procedures, as required.
· Maintain database software, test upgrades, and assure regular back-ups.
· Provide support for the Division's Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement activities and strategic planning activities through complete statistical analysis, data presentation and report preparation.
· Work with the Division staff to develop new forms and procedures to analyze performance and improve work flow.
· Compile reports and presentations for weekly Transplant Conferences/Meetings and Division Performance Improvement, utilizing data bases, Microsoft programs, e.g., PowerPoint and Access, and statistical packages such as SAS, SPSS and analyze-it.
· Participate with clinicians in refinement of TransChart and Eclipsys Electronic Records to record clinical encounters for pre and post transplant patients.
· Support the Division's Clinical Research by developing data collection forms, abstracting data, providing statistical analysis, and collaborating with researchers on data display and manuscript preparation.
· Must be able to meet deadlines, prioritize multiple tasks, and ensure accuracy of all aspects of workload.
· Able to proactively communicate and collaborate with large clinical and administrative team.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree with college level courses in Biostatistics, Computer Science, and Life Sciences. Three to five years of clinical data management experience in a high volume, and highly detailed environment. Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical care, research or pharmaceutical environment. Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Access and statistical software training and demonstrate competency.
PREFERRED: Master’s degree. Knowledge of hospital-based patient care/clinical reporting systems. Experience with ESRD or Transplant data.
