The Department of Medicine is seeking an infectious diseases specialist (clinical scholar track) with a focus in transplant infectious diseases to serve as clinician/educator in the Division of Infectious Diseases and International Medicine at the University of Minnesota. The position will have both inpatient and outpatient duties at the University of Minnesota Medical Center including attending on the inpatient transplant, general infectious diseases, and antibiotic management team consult services, and providing outpatient infectious diseases clinic services in the Delaware Street Clinic. Educational responsibility includes teaching residents and students who rotate on the infectious diseases consult services and staffing the infectious diseases fellows' clinics. There is also the opportunity to collaborate on clinical research studies run by divisional colleagues. Required/Preferred Qualifications:
 
Requirements include an MD degree, board eligibility or board certification in Internal Medicine, and fellowship-trained in infectious diseases. Advanced training in transplant infectious diseases is highly desirable. Applicants for this position will demonstrate excellence in patient care, enthusiasm for medical education, and strong teaching skills.

I. Academic Appointment

The successful candidate will be appointed to a full-time faculty position in the Department of Medicine, College of Medicine, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. This position will be in the Clinician Educator pathway or to the Clinician Scientist pathway for candidates with laboratory-based research programs. Exceptional candidates appointed to either pathway will be considered for tenure-track appointment.

II. Required Qualifications

Doctoral degree (MD or equivalent). Candidate must be Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Internal Medicine and ABIM Board Eligible or Certified in Infectious Diseases.

III. Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with excellent oral and written communication skills, additional training or research interest in clinical care of transplant/immunocompromised patients, or a background in epidemiology and biostatistics are encouraged to apply.

IV. Areas Of Responsibility

Clinical faculty will engage in the three major missions of the College of Medicine: Education, Patient care, and Scholarship. Time and effort allocated to each mission will be determined by the Section Chief in collaboration with the faculty member and the Chair, Dept. of Medicine. Educational responsibilities may include teaching first and second year medical student courses, precepting and supervision of trainees at all levels, e.g. third and fourth year medical students, residents, and fellows on inpatient and outpatient services. Educational responsibilities also include participation in Departmental and Section level teaching forums e.g. medical grand rounds, resident lectures, journal clubs, research and clinical conferences. Patient care activities will be conducted at the OUMC and OU Physicians outpatient clinics, and at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center for faculty with VA appointments. Additional duties and venues may be assigned through the section. Faculty are expected to engage in scholarly activities such as generation of published manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters, conducting independent and collaborative research projects, securing extramural grant funding through grant writing. Scholarship-related activities may also include development of high quality teaching materials, course supervision, and curricular design.

V. Promotion

Promotion to a higher academic rank will be in accord with current College of Medicine criteria.

The Division of Infectious Diseases (http://med.ucsd.edu) at the University of California, San Diego is initiating a search for a clinician to develop and direct an integrated hospital-based inpatient and outpatient program in Solid Organ Transplant (SOT) Infectious Diseases.
 
The successful candidate will work closely with the Division Head, the Clinical Division Director, and counterparts in the Department of Surgery to develop and lead a focused solid organ transplant infectious diseases consultation service; to work with cognate surgical and medical faculty in the different SOT specialties (eg liver, lung, kidney, etc) to help build a cohesive and comprehensive SOT program; and to establish a clinically based research program in SOT Infectious Diseases.
 
Minimum requirements: California medical license/eligibility and board certification/eligible in Infectious Diseases.
 
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
