Description:
The
Research Technologist in the Section of Transplant Surgery will perform
research as a member of the Islet Cell research team under the
direction of the Principal Investigator (PI). The Research Tech will
focus on tolerance and antirejection techniques in transplantation. The
overall goal of this work is developing new insights, diagnostics, and
therapeutics leading to enhanced acceptance of transplanted allografts.
Performs experiments; records and analyzes results; prepares reports on
experimental data for review and analysis by the PI. Contributes to the
research projects / program being conducted with specific and unique
skills from an extensive, demonstrated background and technical
expertise in molecular biology, immunology, and cell biology.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's
degree or higher in biology or related field required; Master's degree
or higher in biology or related field preferred; experience in
molecular biology, immunology, and cell biology required; excellent
laboratory techniques required; experience in cell culture required;
experience in T regulatory cell expansion preferred; strong analytical
and statistical skills required; knowledge of standard computer
software and data analysis techniques preferred exceptional
organizational skills and attention to detail required; excellent
communication and interpersonal skills required; strong initiative and
a resourceful approach to learning and problem solving preferred.
