The clinical responsibilities may include any or all of the following: circulating through all appropriate areas of the hospital to identify potential donor situations, responding to referrals, evaluating for medical suitability, identifying next-of-kin relationships, requesting consent, interviewing for medical/social history, (coordinating OR set-up), initiating serology testing, communication with administrator-on-call, and other preliminary or back-up recovery related duties and contacts, with appropriate family and hospital staff follow-up. Occasional coverage at District 13 Medical Examiner Office is required.
Requirements:
- R.N. or equivalent or B.A. degree in allied healthcare field.
- Ability to work outside normal business hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as well as non-scheduled hours when necessary.
- Ability to apply sound judgment and flexibility, working autonomously with an open line of daily communication with manager.
- Demonstrated effective presentation and personal interaction skills with above average written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable vehicle with good driving record and current driver’s license.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Description:
The In-House Donation Clinical Specialist is responsible for the daily service delivery operations surrounding organ, tissue and eye donation at the CORE hospital. This position works collaboratively with the medical, nursing and other departments as necessary in the planning, design, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of educational and quality assurance programs related to donation.
Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, an approved physician's assistant school, undergraduate degree in allied health or related field, (BSN or BS) or have equivalent experience in an allied healthcare field. Maintain licensure and/or certification of professional stature. Graduate degree a plus (MPH, MHA, MSN) & Bilingual a plus.
