In this role, you will work in our 18-bed Cardiothoracic SICU, which specializes in the care of post op cardiac patients. Commonly cared for patients are those receiving heart and/or lung transplants, CABG, valves, etc. This unit is very active in trials for new equipment, and in doing research to remain on the cutting edge.
The dedicated Nurse we seek will work in the role of primary and/or associate nurse within the professional practice model and will demonstrate the core values, which reflects the hospital's mission. Assuming responsibility for the plan of care and utilizing the Nursing process in the delivery of care, you will facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum, and demonstrate safe practice within the domains of clinical judgment and decision making, nurse-patient/family relationship, clinical leadership and clinical scholarship. In addition, you will maintain a safe level of knowledge and skill with technical procedures and interpersonal communication, while demonstrating the knowledge and skill necessary to provide the expected standards.
The qualified candidate must be a graduate of a NLN approved school of professional nursing, have a BSN, and licensure as a registered professional nurse in the

Surgical ICU offers a new learning experience each day due to the variety of surgical intensive care specialties cared for in our 40 bed unit. Patient populations include trauma, neurological-trauma, vascular, liver, kidney and pancreas transplant, and general surgical patient populations. The unit includes all surgical patient modalities and medical co-morbidity. Our patients are cared for by a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering evidenced based, high quality standards of care.
Qualified candidates are those with Med-Surg or ICU nursing experience, with at least one to two years of recent in-patient nursing. The orientation phase is individualized to meet the needs of the oriented and begins monthly.
The SICU has a strong and active shared governance program that is developing standards, programs, and perks.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSURE: Graduate from an accredited
EXPERIENCE: One to two years of previous inpatient nursing experience and/or a demonstrated level of performance required. ICU or critical care experience preferred.
