Clinical Nurse I – Operating Room, Duke Hospital, Durham, North Carolina

Description:

Currently seeking RN's w/ greater than 1 year of OR experience for all services.  

CTOR interested in OR RN's w/ previous CTOR experience.

The services offered are arranged in clusters. Each cluster is managed by a Clinical Service Line Operations Manager. Services include: Gynecology, Urology; Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics; ENT, Plastics; Cardio-Thoracic; General/Trauma Services. A Transplantation program is available and includes heart, lung, liver, kidney, and pancreas.

·    Plan, provide and document professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process, in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures under the supervision of the team leader or charge nurse.

·    Delegate tasks and supervises the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers.

·    Assist other healthcare personnel in the delivery of patient care.

·    Participate in maintaining the environment of care including equipment and material resources.

·    Prioritize work organization and identify resources available to assist in completing components of care in a timely manner.

·    Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate assistance or educational offerings.

·    Supports the development of other staff and formal learners.

·    Participate in the formal evaluation process of peers and other care providers.

·    Participate in the identification of clinical or operational performance improvement opportunities and assist in performance improvement activities.

·    May participate in the interview process and make hiring recommendations.

·    Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. # Beds: 28 Suites. Shift: 10- and 12-hour shifts are available.

Patient Population: Age: Neonates to Geriatric Patients in all services.

Services Offered: All except Ophthalmology.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Work requires graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. Experience: No experience required. Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification: Must have current or compact licensure in the state of North Carolina.
