Job Summary:
 
The Administrative Nurse Manager is responsible for clinical, fiscal, human resource and quality outcomes for the Adult and Pediatric Pre Kidney and Pancreas Transplant programs. This includes actively managing all clinical operations including evaluation of a potential recipient or living donor, management of all patients on the waitlist, and all living kidney donor transplants.
 
Working closely with Medical & Surgical Directors and Director of Clinical Operations, the Manager will develop standards of care to ensure high quality, cost-effective delivery of care and spearhead innovative projects for program improvements. The Manager:
 
·         Works with staff on a clearly defined, clearly communicated vision and engages individuals and groups to achieve that vision.
·         Identifies and develops organizational talent and embraces continuous learning of self and others.
·         Collaborates with Medical Director, Surgical Director and Clinical Operations Director to advance quality strategies, ensure a professional work environment, facilitate timeliness of services, and enhance patient and staff satisfaction.
·         Oversees all aspects of the provision of clinical services including the maintenance of safety and technical/clinical performance, quality, standards of care, practice guidelines, service delivery and patient and customer satisfaction.
 
This position is responsible for financial accountability and working collaboratively with the Director and Transplant Finance Manager to monitor the operating budget.
 
Required Qualifications:
 
·         Registered Nurse with a minimum 5 years of experience as clinical manager
·         5 years of progressive leadership experience
 
Knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned:
 
·         Clinical knowledge
·         Proven supervisory and staff development skills
·         Computer literacy, i.e. MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and other software
·         Knowledge of healthcare regulatory agency standards for outpatient settings
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
·         Master’s Degree, in Nursing or Healthcare related.
·         Management experience within a Transplant program.
·         Understanding of Transplant specific federal and state regulations.
·         Experience with TeleResults software; a transplant specific electronic medical record.
 
Required License/Certification:

·         Valid California Nursing License

This position requires an advanced level of expertise and overall understanding of organ transplantation. Utilizing a wide range of alternatives in problem solving situations, demonstrates a high degree of professional competence and skill. Responsibility involves coordination of interdisciplinary medical care delivery system under the direction of the Medical Director; assessment of appropriate medical intervention for effective use of resources and quality assurance. Additional responsibilities include assessing and monitoring medical case management protocols to maintain effective long-term patient management, development of educational materials and programs for patients, nursing staff and physicians. Development of clinical protocols, and policy and procedures. Community education and public relations. Transplant donor/recipient coordination and liaison function with organ procurement agencies.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • BS degree required, Master's preferred.
  • Previous transplant experience required.
  • Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with medical teams, staff and other colleagues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills ability to communicate effectively with persons of various cultural and educational backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational skills, proficiency in meeting deadlines, ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
