Description:

 

Contribute to unit and divisional-based demands for staff educational support. Orientation process, ongoing quality staff development, educational resource divisional role model.

 

Qualifications:

BSN required with current NC RN licensure - may substitute Nursing Diploma or ADN degree with greater than 15 years of Nursing experience for BSN.  Three to four years of experience required in a clinical practice with evidence of clinical knowledge and excellence in critical thinking, interpersonal and technical skills; demonstrates formalized teaching effectiveness. Professional certification, unit educator and clinical coach experience preferred.

Description:

 

FT Days

 

The NURSE EDUCATOR Cardiac Telemetry Heart and Lung assesses educational needs and competencies of Nursing Staff and develops, schedules, coordinates, and conducts educational programs for new and present Nursing Personnel within Unit.

 

·    Educates and aids them in planning and developing educational programs to meet their own needs.

·    Participates in system wide education council

·    Educates staff regarding new initiatives and system wide changes

·    Special unit based projects

 

Qualifications:

 

·    Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required

·    Texas RN License

·    Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required in Cardiac and Lung Transplant and/or LVAD – Telemetry

·    BLS/ACLS certification required.

·    Previous educator experience preferred.

·    Excellent presentation and communication skills required.
