The Nebraska Medical Center has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Director for the Solid Organ Transplant Service Line. This position will develop and direct effective systems for designated patient populations to insure optimal customer outcomes, enhance service delivery goals, meet or exceed financial margins, and contribute to the achievement of The Nebraska Medical Center mission.

Current RN license in the State of Nebraska. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum seven years of healthcare experience in acute care inpatient setting with demonstrated progressive managerial experience with teams to include three years progressive management and leadership experience required.

Description:

 

  • Provides support for program planning and business planning support for the transplant center.
  • Provides business support for new therapies that emerge in transplant including coordination of financial analysis, development of marketing plans, developing pricing, planning the implementation, etc.
  • Supports the transplant centers balanced scorecard.
  • Works with the Administrator to develop capital and operating budgets; maintains expenditures within budgetary guidelines.
  • Develops detailed financial variance reports needed to monitor departmental expenditures, clinic billings, collection percentages and payor trends.
  • Monitors the competitive landscape, referral patterns, trends in transplantation, etc., to capitalize on opportunities in the market.
  • Communicates with Medical Center departments to gather and exchange information regarding patient accounts and services provided in specialty areas in order to maintain patient files and department records. Ensures patient charges are accurately recorded and billed properly.
  • Develops, implements and administers policies and procedures for assigned areas to achieve short and long term goals and objectives.
  • Develops and maintains cooperative working relationships with physicians, other medical center departments, community organizations, and other health care facilities in order to gather and exchange information, develop and implement solutions to problems and to ensure growth of the program.
  • Participates in ensuring departmental adherence to various regulatory and accreditation agencies. Oversees quality improvement activities, encouraging participation of all levels of staff.
  • Participates in various workgroups and CQI teams within the organization to provide leadership regarding the transplant center.
  • Interviews, counsels, evaluates, hires and recommends termination of assigned personnel.
  • Manages the transplant center business operations staff.

Qualifications:

 

Required Education:

 

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare related field;
  • Masters Degree preferred.

Required Experience:

 

  • 3-5 years managerial experience required; experience in Transplant Services preferred.
