Yale University School of Medicine seeks applications for a senior faculty (Full Professor) position to develop a new interdepartmental Transplantation Research Program.
Candidates should have a distinguished record of research accomplishment in transplantation biology or related areas.
Primary appointment may be in the Section of Human and Translational Immunology of the Department of Immunobiology or in other participating Departments with a secondary appointment within Immunobiology.
The successful candidate will be able to recruit multiple additional junior faculty members working on different aspects of transplantation biology, patient-oriented clinical studies and on the translation of basic science discoveries to clinical therapies and/or diagnosis.
Additional individuals present at Yale could be incorporated into this program if this is desirable to the senior faculty recruit.
Close interactions are expected with both the clinical programs and other related research programs
The application package must include curriculum vitae, a summary of present and future research, and three letters of recommendation.

Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Transplant Center Director and specific direction of a QHS Transplant Research Team Manager, assists and facilitates clinical investigators in assembling from multiple resources, data for clinical investigations;
assists in data extractions from transplant databases and generates reports. Provides daily coordination of data by establishing priorities for data flow and monitoring progress to ensure timely availability of information. Audits data for accuracy. Assists in training and orientation. Assists with ongoing documentation of data in transplant databases.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in data management, computer science, or related field required. Master's Degree preferred: Strong expertise in SQL query statement formulation. Must have aptitude and patience for meticulous detail, data correctness and data completeness. Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate, verbally and written. Demonstrated skills in managing multiple activities. Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy, appropriate in domain areas is strongly recommended.
Five years of experience working in data management and with databases. Background in clinical research is desirable, particularly in specific domain area.
Requires the ability to sit and be stationary for prolonged periods of time, normal or corrected vision and manual dexterity sufficient to perform work on a personal computer. Requires the ability to walk to various locations throughout the Foundation and to function in a stressful environment.
Preferred qualifications include specific technology skills with:
· SQL 2005/2008, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Reporting Services
· Visual Studio 2005/2008
· Web Development in ASP.NET (VB, C#, Java, XML)
· Web Services / SOAP
· HL7 / Experience writing parsers
