Job Description:
Gift of Life Donor Program, the non-profit agency serving eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware, is responsible for recovering and distributing organ and tissues used in life-saving and life-enhancing transplants. The Gift of Life volunteer outreach program is designed to increase public awareness of and commitment to organ and tissue donation and transplantation.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a recent college graduate or newly experienced Volunteer professional to work collaboratively with the Volunteer Coordinator in the provision and support of all aspects of Gift of Life's volunteer outreach program supporting Gift of Life Donor Program and the Family House. Reporting to the Director of Community Relations, the Volunteer Liaison works collaboratively with the Volunteer Coordinator by sharing expertise/knowledge, information and resources to ensure the seamless provision of Volunteer Services.
You will coordinate the recruitment, supervision and training of more than 500 volunteers throughout the year, as well as the acknowledgement and cultivation of volunteers through various means; Produces the quarterly volunteer newsletter; Provide staff support for 2 volunteer groups and the high school/college intern program; Coordinate the Speaker's Bureau program, including fielding requests for volunteer participation in speaking programs, health fairs, and other community and hospital programs; Conduct follow-up to evaluate results of community education programs; Represent Gift of Life at community speaking programs and health fairs when necessary; Provide logistical support to program staff in identifying and scheduling of volunteers to assist with special events and programs, including both Gift of Life Donor Program and Family House; Maintain database system to monitor and evaluate volunteer and public education activities; Participate in special projects; and performs miscellaneous related duties, and other duties as assigned

Description:
This position provides immunogenetic expertise to transplant center clinicians and coordinators through search strategy advice for patients needing stem cell transplantation. This role is responsible for managing work of external HLA experts to support NMDP committees and services related to selection of best immunogenetically matched stem cell source. This position also implements contracts or consulting agreements with laboratories and/or external HLA experts, serves as laboratory and/or repository liaison for NMDP transplant centers, donor centers, and cord blood banks, serves as lead point person for inter-departmental projects involving search strategy support for world-wide network of transplant centers, analyzes and manages large quantities of complex project data using custom-designed database tools, spreadsheets, and reports, and supports histocompatibility related research and technical and scientific writing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a biological science discipline or related field.
Bachelor’s degree and eight years experience or Master’s degree and six years experience, such as: a technologist, clinical trials project lead, clinical research nurse, clinical quality assurance specialist or research scientist in a related science setting. Four years full-time internal NMDP employment may be substituted for the above eight/six years experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of molecular biology, immunology, or genetics
CHTC (Certified Hematopoietic Transplant Coordinator) or CHS (Certified Histocompatibility Specialist) required
Professional oral and written communication (documented experience)
Excellent problem solving, independent technical and troubleshooting experience
Demonstrated leadership, decision-making skills and project management experience
Strong organizational skills
Intermediate word processing and spreadsheet skills

Description:
This position provides support to a team that generates search strategy advice for patients needing stem cell transplantation. There is direct responsibility for maintaining the integrity of immunogenetic data for over 7 million donors, patients and cord blood units on the NMDP Registry. Individual project assignments include coordinating the activities of immunogenetic typing labs, repositories, or research laboratories subcontracted to the NMDP. This role also assists with the bid and selection process for new contract laboratories and repositories, serves as laboratory and/or repository liaison for NMDP transplant centers, donor centers, and cord blood banks, works on inter-departmental teams as assigned, and performs quality assurance review of DNA-based and serologic HLA typing data on donor and patient forms.
Qualifications:

The Director of Fund Development will provide leadership, strategic direction and management for all fundraising programs and activities. The incumbent will identify, cultivate, and solicit major contributors for capital campaigns, planned giving and annual gifts. The position must support and manage an effective contributor database, financial administration and fiscal reporting to the CEO and governing board.
Knowledge of federal and state legislation affecting charities is required. Demonstrated understanding of principles, ethics, and practices of successful fundraising is essential as is proven success in developing, managing, and implementing all aspects of a capital campaign.
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and five (5) to seven (7) years of proven experience directing a fundraising program in a complex organization; or a minimum of ten (10) years experience in a development position with progressively more responsible assignments; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is preferred.
