Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) is a 28-bed post-open heart recovery area
and a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. This department cares for over 2,000
cardiac surgery patients each year. Our collaborative team efforts are
supported by a CV Governance Council that is multidisciplinary and
oversees best-practices, monitors performance and directs operational
issues. The Nursing Practice Council is a group of bedside clinicians

Full Time Days
The RN in Bone Marrow Transplant coordinates all aspects of care for autologous stem cell/bone marrow, allogeneic stem cell/bone marrow (related, unrelated, cord blood) transplant recipients and donors (related and unrelated through the NMDP).
The nurse participates in medical, administrative, research and teaching duties. The nurse is an active member of the multi-disciplinary transplant team.
· Develops and implements IAP critical pathways;
· IPD discharge planning;
· Facilitates and manages the use of home care; triage of OPD and IPD medial issues with referral to appropriate health care professionals;
· Communications with insurance companies and referring physician.
· Quality assurance projects;
· Promotes health maintenance education and follow-up.
· Donor & Recipient Family and patient management.
Clerical:
· Gains information related to diagnosis, history, review of medical records for evaluation of recipients and donors;
· Obtain records from other facilities, patients, families and other health care providers;
· Communicates with the insurance companies and referring physicians to ensure payment/coverage.
Clinical
· coordination of care for admitted patient, assessment, writing progress notes, completing flow sheets, communicating plan of care to the patient and BMT staff
