The Comprehensive Transplant Center at The Ohio State University Medical Center is seeking a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of Surgery to assume primary responsibility for the development of the Advanced Lung Disease Program and leadership of the lung transplant program.
 
The successful candidate will have well-developed experience by training program or current practice in all elements of surgical management of advanced lung disease and lung transplantation.
 
The candidate should have demonstrated abilities in organizing a comprehensive team and program development. Previous experience of at least 3-5 years is preferred. Basic science or translational research experience is desirable.
 
The candidate will participate in all academic and clinical activities of the Division of Cardiac/Thoracic Surgery and the Comprehensive Transplant Center.
 
The applicant must be ABTS eligible/certified and qualified for Ohio Medical Licensure.

Florida Hospital and Cardiovascular Surgeons, PA are seeking an experienced UNOS certified heart and lung transplant surgeon with extensive leadership experience post fellowship to join its new heart and lung transplant program. We are looking for a dynamic physician to help grow our new program with the support of our cardiovascular surgery group and the Florida Hospital Transplant Center. The surgeon will have the opportunity to work with our currently established cardiology and lung transplant medical directors to create a national destination heart and lung transplant program.

Transplant Surgeon Requirements:

  • Program leadership experience
  • Fellowship in heart and lung transplant - Meets UNOS requirements for heart and lung transplant surgeon
  • Comprehensive clinical experience with heart and lung transplant and Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs)
  • Board certification by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery
  • Leadership and communication skills to assist in developing the newly formed heart and lung transplant programs.

  • Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization Procedures (over 10,000 annually)
  • Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Procedures (over 6,300 annually)
In addition, the new tower also houses a new Emergency Department, OR suites, and ICU beds. At Florida Hospital Cardiovascular Institute, our medical team fields more than 70,000 cardiac-related visits annually, with more than 25,000 individuals being treated for chest pain across seven emergency rooms.
 
Practice Setting:
 
The Florida Hospital Transplant Center is at Florida Hospital Orlando, just outside downtown Orlando. The office site is steps away from the hospital in an adjacent medical office building. Florida Hospital already provides kidney, pancreas, liver, and bone marrow transplant programs, and with the addition of heart and lung transplant services, we will become the fifth comprehensive transplant center in the state of Florida.
