Provide application programming and database management support to maintain and enhance Transplant Services Information Systems, including analysis, project planning, documentation, coding, testing, implementation and maintenance. Implement interfaces with vendor systems where appropriate. Engage in discussions with Nurse Managers and their teams, QA/PI Managers, and research PIs and their teams regarding database enhancement requests.
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Working knowledge of application development cycles and associated software such as Access and Visual Basic  (Required)
  • Working knowledge of Win XP, 2000-2008 and NT operating systems as they pertain to the Access applications.  (Required)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team oriented project development.  (Required)
  • Ability to interact with functional/clinical area and information systems personnel.  (Required)
  • Working knowledge of application development cycles and associated software such as Transact SQL. (Preferred)
  • Ability to design, implement and manage SQL Server databases, including views and stored procedures.  (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Win XP, 2000-2008 and NT operating systems as they pertain to SQL Server and server management. (Preferred)
  • Ability to write server maintenance scripts in C, UNIX shell, BV, NT shell.  (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with Intranet development using IIS and SQL Server.  (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with the academic medical field.  (Preferred)

This position is responsible for delivering successful J2EE solutions within the application development infrastructure for the NMDP. This role will also coordinate software development resources and teams, formulate system scope and objectives, and provide production system support as needed or required.

 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science; Engineering, Math or Business with an emphasis on Management Information Systems, or related technical field. However, upon evaluation, equivalent related experience and/or education may be substituted for degree requirement.

 

Four years technical work experience in a software development environment that required advanced Java programming language and UNIX-based platform experience, working independently and in a team-based environment. 1 year experience with JMS and Java Persistence /OR Mapping (Hibernate or other). 1 year of use cases and UML required.
Experience coordinating software development resources or teams. Experience with relational databases and JDBC.

 

Advanced knowledge of the development life cycle including testing process and methods, variable programming fundamentals, conditional execution, data structures, compilation and debugging tools.
Knowledge of Oracle, BEA Weblogic, IBM Websphere MQ, Business Objects XI and Business Objects data Integrator helpful.

 

J2EE, JMS, XML, EJB 3.0 Persistence (Hibernate and equivalent), and Object Oriented Framework design, Web services and relation database technology or other preferred.

Description:

 

The Operations DBA focuses on the performance, interoperability and configuration of the overall database environment. This role ensures that the physical database infrastructure will support the needs of the individual application databases and that management processes are in place to ensure reliability and integrity of the database environment. This includes maintaining database patch levels, managing and coordinating release upgrades and ensuring capacity requirements for databases are being met.

The Operations DBA is also responsible for maintaining the stability of the database environment and hence plays an integral role in maintaining configuration standards and partnering with Application DBAs in performing enterprise change and configuration management procedures.

Secondarily, this position may also provide Application DBA services including database model design and development.

 

Qualifications:

 

Requires bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or a related field. However, upon evaluation, equivalent related experience and/or education may be substituted for degree requirement.

 

Minimum of 3 years as a Database Administrator (DBA) with preference towards Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL
Minimum of 2 years development experience

Description:

 

This position is critical to Be The Match Foundation’s overall fundraising efforts in that it provides the technological infrastructure and staff support to manage data used for the cultivation, solicitation and recognition/stewards of our current and prospective contributors, and in that it delivers an effective moves management system to guide the day to day activities of the users. This specialist will also be required to attend/support events as needed. This position supports all users of Be The Match Foundation prospect management system at headquarters and elsewhere.

 
The position is responsible for developing and implementing policies to guide data entry, the accuracy and integrity of the Raiser’s Edge prospect management database, technology management, end-user training and support, and the development of a coding system in order to capture constituent information and the design of accurate contributor and analytical reports.

 
This position will be the first point of contact for foundation staff with questions about or problems with the use of the database, and will serve as the liaison to the National Marrow Donor Program’s (NMPD) Finance Department, Information Technologies Department and vendors in maintaining the hardware and software and troubleshooting problems.

 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree in related field. However, upon evaluation, two years experience, in addition to the minimum requirement in a similar position.

 

Two years experience in a non-profit, development, or similar setting. Experience working with Raiser’s Edge.

 

General business and financial practices. Must have knowledge of applicable tax laws surrounding gift administration, the fund-raising process, and the concept of donor relations.

 

Excellent analytical, organizational, oral and written communication, customer service and proofreading skills. Attention to detail and ability to keep information confidential. Demonstrated good judgment; high sense of integrity, proactive approach to addressing issues; strong sense of initiative, and task/results oriented.

 

Work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to perform a variety of tasks; goal oriented and highly motivated with ability to excel independently, and as part of a team.


This position also requires comfort and effectiveness translating between end users needs and database output. Must be able to understand development and alumni officers’ needs so as to accurately translate their requests into effective queries and reports. Skill in making presentations and training individuals in software applications is highly desirable.
