Description:

The Manager of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs will:

 

·    Manage the regulations, compliance and process improvement activities of the department

·    Lead all CAP and JCAHO accreditation activities affecting the department

·    Be responsible for ensuring timely process improvement data collection and dissemination internally and externally

·    Assists in accreditation preparation for all hospital, point of care testing, transfusion medicine and transplant areas that directly affect the department

·    Develop a comprehensive quality management program, including document control, staff development and process improvement activities in collaboration with laboratory leadership

·    Oversee the compliance aspects of the laboratory outreach and personalized medicine programs, including MediCal and Medicare program requirements such as the OIG requirements.

 

Qualifications:

 

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a clinical lab science, medical technology or related science required. Masters degree preferred in a natural science, clinical lab science, medical technology, education, business administration, public health administration, hospital administration, management, health care administration, compliance officer certification or a comparable level of education and experience. Five years of prior experience in clinical lab management with at least three years in the area of quality assurance, process improvement and regulatory compliance. A valid California Lab Bioanalyst or Clinical Lab Scientist license issues by the State of California.

The candidate will have excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality assurance procedures. As well as superior interpersonal and communication skills, full command (verbal and written) of the English language. Compliance officer certification is preferred.
